Born from John Barclay’s love of skiing, the Swiss Alps, and Mont-Sainte-Anne, Chalets Montmorency has welcomed visitors since 1976. Inspired by alpine architecture, John and his wife Gisèle built their first chalets, quickly attracting international ski groups. Each building is named after an Olympic host city—a tribute to their passion for the sport and the mountains. Ideally located just 800 meters from Mont-SainteAnne’s slopes and 35 minutes from both Québec City and Le Massif de Charlevoix, Chalets Montmorency offers the perfect four-season basecamp. The family-run resort features 46 comfortable and affordable units, from studios to 5-bedroom villas, plus two larger chalets—some with private hot tubs. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, access to our indoor pool and whirlpool, and private or shared ski waxing rooms—making it a top choice for athletes, families, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. John’s daughters, Jessica and Melissa, took over operations and marketing in the early 2000s and proudly carry on the family’s warm and welcoming spirit.
